Physically, employees are given information about how to take care of their bodies and engage practically with movement to avoid pain, and build strength. Emotionally, each person deserves to understand their own body as powerful. How Many People are Typically in a Class?
Class sizes range from one-on-one coaching sessions, to groups as large as 100. We want to know more about the space you're considering for the workshop, and work from there to decide what's most appropriate. We teach workshops together, allowing us to simultaneously provide individual attention while staying connected to the energy of the entire room. Classes with more than 60 participants require a microphone.
What is functional movement?
Functional Movement refers to exercises that help employees in their everyday office life. We might talk about how to properly sit in your chair to avoid back pain or poor circulation. We might demonstrate proper stretching techniques for your shoulders to combat the sunken posture of desk work. We might build a 2-5 minute stretch routine they can do at their desks to refresh their energy and sharpen their attention. Our goal is to give your employees a bag of tools that they can use to refine their form, incorporate into their daily routines, and help them focus on the work they have in front of them.
How Long are Classes?
Classes can range anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours depending on your scheduling needs. Off-site events can be extended to 3 hours.
I don't have any dance experience, is there a session for me?
Yes! No dance experience is required for any of our workshops. Some workshops involve more standing cardio based sequences of movement if that's what your workplace needs. The majority of our offerings are accessible for all levels.
What should I wear?
Participants feel best if they're wearing clothes that are loose or unrestrictive. Some sessions won't require participants to change at all, but we recommend wearing clothes you feel comfortable moving in!
